Frontiers Research Topic on Wellbeing Where People Live

Why does wellbeing differ between communities, and how can research help improve quality of life where people live? These questions guide a Research Topic in Frontiers in Psychology, led by Víctor Raúl López Ruiz, from the University of Castilla-La Mancha. The editorial team also includes Noelia Somarriba Arechavala, from the University of León, and Nuria Huete-Alcocer, from the University of Castilla-La Mancha.

Entitled “Wellbeing Where People Live: Modeling Subjective Wellbeing, Social Vulnerability, and Quality of Life in Regional Communities”, the collection welcomes research examining how personal circumstances and territorial conditions shape wellbeing.

The call covers five complementary areas: social vulnerability and wellbeing; modeling community wellbeing; measurement and indicators; regional and territorial variation; and the use of evidence in public policy. Its quantitative focus connects rigorous analysis with practical questions about inequality, local conditions and community development.

Researchers are invited to submit manuscripts by 16 April 2027. Full details and submission information are available at frontiersin.org/research-topics/86705.
